LES ATELIERS DE DESIGN

Objects That Question You

What if objects could interrupt the dream, even for a moment? Not to awaken us—but to point, subtly, to the One who dreams?

At L’Enclos, we once explored the tension between form and formlessness—asking whether design could serve not the self, but the undoing of the self. These weren’t “solutions” or “products.” They were gestures. Sculptural reminders that what we see is never the whole story.

What emerged from this period were not just products, but perceptual devices: minimal, intentional objects created not to serve, but to question. Could the presence of an object remind us of our own?

Informed by the Design for Nothing methodology, each piece became a dialogue—between form and awareness, material and mind. These works sought not to decorate the world, but to undo it gently, offering small moments of stillness in a culture of distraction.

Here, Martin Lenclos’ minimalist approach met a consciousness-first philosophy—inviting reflection through silence, rather than noise. These objects do not ask to be owned. They ask to be met.

To pause. To notice. To remember.

Each one is a suggestion: that what we call “matter” might carry the echo of something immaterial.

Objects, designed as signposts, promote inquiry into one's true nature.

Thought-provoking products invite reflection on our perception of the world.

Branded products encourage forgiveness, non-attachment, and the present moment.

Now a Touch of Immaterial.

We craft promotional 'Immaterials' — products that challenge, provoke, and invite introspection, fostering forgiveness, non-attachment, and present moment awareness.

Shaping Perception Through Design.

Various spiritual paths, including Hinduism, some Daoist interpretations, Zen Buddhism, and A Course in Miracles, propose a unified reality. These schools suggest that altering one's perception or consciousness is more significant than changing the external world.

Design for Change is an approach to design serving as a conduit for raising awareness and funds for causes. Rooted in the wisdom of spiritual design, we create transformative objects that inspire profound inner growth and ignite conscious change in our perception of the world.

L'Enclos: Altered object questioning reality, inviting interaction and engagement.

Using the Design for Nothing approach, L'Enclos' creations become more than mere objects. They embody the essence of spiritual change, inviting you to explore the interconnectedness of all things and awaken to the truth of our shared existence.

Sketch for a ice cube representing a toppling slave trader statue: Unusual artwork encouraging exploration and rethinking of function.

With each crafted piece, we strive to foster a conscious awareness that we are one mind capable of providing undifferentiated love to all. Through the power of design, we aim to ignite a deep recognition of our inherent oneness and inspire collective harmony.

Savor the ephemeral.
Transcend the material.
Melting away attachments.

These works remain as part of our studio’s inquiry archive. We are not currently producing design objects or offering design services—but their essence continues to shape our understanding of design as a perceptual threshold.
